High Head in One Stage
The pitot tube design gives high head at low flow in a single stage—an alternative to a multistage pump for the right feedwater duty.
The Water Side of Steam Generation
Low-flow, high-pressure feedwater for your boiler system. EHIK selects the pump and drive and plans the installation for changing boiler load, hot-water inlet conditions and controls.

The seal sits away from the high-pressure discharge. EHIK selects the seal and its support for the hot water and the real inlet conditions.
Selection, performance curves and outline drawings help your boiler team plan the operating point, the pump and drive size, and the pipework connections.
Field Reference / Anyue
EHIK pumps replaced multistage centrifugal pumps in the boiler-feedwater system at PetroChina's Anyue purification plant.

At Anyue, EHIK pump sets replaced the old multistage centrifugal pumps in a running plant's boiler-feedwater system.
The photos show the pump and drive connected to the site's feedwater piping and valves. They show what needs planning: the pump footprint, connection positions and access around the equipment.
For a new installation, EHIK selects the pump from the flow, delivery pressure, water temperature and inlet conditions, then sends outline drawings for the plant layout. For a replacement, we also check which existing equipment and connections can stay. Custom flanges can match your existing piping.

Engineering the Feedwater Duty
EHIK considers the operating range, inlet conditions and equipment connections in one selection. Start with the information you have; the other details can be worked out with your system team.
The pump and drive are matched to minimum, normal and maximum water demand, including start-up and low load. The selection uses the pressure needed at the delivery point, plus pipe and control-valve losses.
Tell us where pressure is measured, the duty cycle and the control method. With the system designer, these help define the allowed range and any minimum-flow arrangement.
With hot feedwater, the inlet supply is a key part of the selection. Review together: normal and maximum water temperature, feed-tank or deaerator pressure, minimum water level, suction-line layout and water treatment.
The NPSHa (net positive suction head available) check uses the lowest tank level and the hottest water, including suction losses and the margin above the water's vapour pressure.
A clear equipment scope helps plan the power supply, speed control, standby pumps, footprint and connection sizes. Instruments, feedwater controls and any recirculation are planned with the system designer.
Choose a pump set or an integrated skid. Then agree which pipework, valves, instruments and controls EHIK supplies, and where the package connects to the plant.
Boiler Feedwater FAQs
Discuss the water, the pump and the boiler together from the start.
Yes. EHIK looks at minimum, normal and maximum demand together with the control scheme. With your system team, these decide the pump and drive, the allowed operating range and any minimum-flow provisions.
No. This page is about the feedwater side of steam generation. The pump supplies water to the boiler system; it does not handle steam.
No. We also need the feedwater flow, the pressure needed at the real delivery point, pipe and valve losses, and the inlet conditions. The pressure at the boiler, the feedwater header and the pump can differ, so it matters where it is measured.
They decide the pressure at the pump inlet and the NPSHa of the system. Hotter water has a higher vapour pressure, and a low tank level and suction losses reduce the margin. We check these with the proposed pump.
Contact EHIK for help with a feedwater-pump replacement. We review the duty, inlet conditions and fit, and propose a pitot tube pump where it suits the service. The review also covers any piping and control changes. Custom flanges can match your existing piping.
EHIK can provide pump selection, performance curves, outline drawings and technical support. These documents help your team check the operating point, equipment size and system connections. We reply within 1 business day.
