02 / Working Principle
How a Pitot Tube Pump Works
A rotating chamber and a stationary pickup tube work together to generate high pressure in a single stage.
Liquid enters the rotating chamber.
The pump draws liquid into the chamber through the inlet.
Rotation builds pressure.
The chamber transfers energy to the liquid as it rotates.
The pickup tube delivers the flow.
The stationary tube collects the moving liquid, converts velocity energy into additional pressure, and directs it to the outlet.

In extremely abrasive conditions with high concentrations of hard particles, EHIK offers more wear-resistant solutions that can extend pickup tube replacement intervals from 1–3 weeks for standard tubes to 2–3 months. We continuously improve wear protection and connection design.

Multistage Pump Replacement at PetroChina · Shunan Gas Mine
Kong 6 Well, Zigong Operating Area · China · 2015

For the same volume of gas-field water pumped.
EHIK replaced the multistage centrifugal pump at Kong 6 Well. The motor rating was reduced from 95 kW to 45 kW (approximately 127 hp to 60 hp). Site meter readings showed 39.5% lower electricity use for the same volume of gas-field water pumped, with stable operation and fewer repairs.

Can EHIK replace my existing pump?
EHIK has experience replacing multistage centrifugal and plunger pumps. We also support projects seeking an alternative to an existing Roto-Jet pump. Send your operating conditions, liquid details, required flow and pressure. Your current pump model and nameplate help us review the replacement layout.
Can EHIK help with liquids containing gas or particles?
EHIK has experience with produced water containing gas, sand and corrosive components. Tell us about the liquid, temperature, gas and particle content so we can recommend the pump configuration and wear-resistant options.
Can I order a pump head without a motor?
Yes. EHIK supplies pump heads as well as complete pump sets. Share the required duty and your installation details so we can define the supply scope and connections.
What support is available after delivery?
EHIK supports commissioning, spare parts, repairs, remote troubleshooting and retrofit projects. Our team helps you keep the pump in service and plan maintenance.
